October 3, 2025, Chișinău – The EcoVoucher Program launches today, October 3, its 6th session of the year, aimed at supporting households with two children and families with members aged over 63.

In total, approximately 3 369 families will benefit from vouchers worth 6,000 MDL in this session of the program, which focuses on population groups that require practical solutions to reduce energy costs and improve daily comfort. The session will run from October 3 to October 19, 2025.

Beneficiary selection was carried out based on eligibility criteria and data registered on the platform compensatii.gov.md. The vouchers cover up to 70% of the cost of a new appliance – either a refrigerator or a washing machine – and can be used at partner stores. Beneficiaries also have access to free delivery and collection of old equipment for recycling.

““This session includes families with two children and households with elderly members, demonstrating the program’s consistent approach to supporting various categories of the population. Through the program, we aim to directly assist beneficiaries by ensuring access to energy-efficient equipment and to energy bill savings, which can be redirected towards other priority needs in the household,” said Ion Muntean, Director of the National Center for Sustainable Energy (CNED).

“We are pleased to see how EcoVoucher directly supports families with children and elderly people in Moldova. This program helps families lower their bills right away and makes their homes more comfortable. At the same time, it reduces pressure on Moldova’s energy system. That’s why Norway supports EcoVoucher - it brings direct, visible benefits to people while also serving the bigger goal of energy security.” noted Kamilla H. Kolshus, Chargé d’Affaires of the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Chișinău,” stated Kamilla H. Kolshus, Chargé d’Affaires of the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Chișinău.

The EcoVoucher Program aims to support energy-vulnerable households, reduce consumption, and lower energy costs. Eligible appliances – refrigerators (including models with integrated freezers, classes A, B, C, and D) and class A washing machines – comply with European energy efficiency and CE Conformity standards.

To date, approximately 37,000 families in the Republic of Moldova have benefited from vouchers for major appliances under the EcoVoucher Program. In 2025 alone, funded by Norway, over 20,000 vouchers have been issued.

More information about the program, the list of partner stores, and instructions for using the vouchers are available at www.ecovoucher.md. Eligible households can check voucher availability on the platform verificarevoucher.cned.gov.md.

The EcoVoucher Program was developed by the Government of the Republic of Moldova with the support of the European Union. This edition of the Household Appliances Voucher Program is implemented by the National Center for Sustainable Energy within the framework of the project “Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy for Moldova” (E4M). E4M is a project implemented by GIZ together with the Government of the Republic of Moldova, financed by the Government of Germany and co-financed by the European Union, Norway, and Denmark. The current edition of the Household Appliances Voucher Program is financed by Norway.
